Rebecca Perdomo

Rebecca Perdomo is a Research Professional for UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. In this role she works on projects for various organizations and government entities, such as Georgia’s Department of Early Care and Learning.

As a consultant, Perdomo has written reports, created dashboards, conducted quantitative and qualitative research, and served as a content editor for the University of Georgia's (UGA) Carl Vinson Institute of Government, Rutgers' Center for MSIs, the Proctor Institute for Leadership, Equity, and Justice<, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), Leve All, and eSource Technologies. Perdomo uses predominately quantitative methods to address equity in education with a focus on Hispanic Serving Institutions, funding, and marginalized students. She also focuses issues such as equity in faculty hiring, and immigrant and migrant student policy.

Using her research to inform policy, she previously served as HACU's Director of Policy Analysis, where she engaged with stakeholders and used her research to advocate on behalf of Hispanic Serving Institutions and the students they serve. Forbes Magazine recognized the HSI dashboard she created in 2021 for its innovative approach to making HSI information accessible to students, parents, and policymakers.

Perdomo has presented her research for the Alliance for Hispanic Serving Institution Educators (AHSIE),the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), Cambio de Colores, the Southern Sociological Society and for American Institutes for Research (AIR), and guest lectured at the University of Georgia, the University of Florida, and Wayne State.

Perdomo's background is in philosophy (BA, University of Central Florida '15) and sociology (BA, UCF '15; MA, UGA 17) and her PhD is in Higher Education Policy and Administration from UGA '19.
