Arthur Vaughn

Arthur Vaughn is the director of budget and strategic planning at Morehouse School of Medicine. He is the former controller at Southern Polytechnic State University, in Marietta, Ga.  In addition to his role as the university’s chief accounting officer he served as lecturer in the new student orientation program, facilitating courses geared toward providing students with skills needed for academic and personal success. He has 20 years of financial management and leadership experience with organizations such as Oglethorpe University, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta and KPMG LLP. 

Vaughn’s community involvement includes service as chairman of the City of Marietta Ethics Review Board, board member and chief financial officer for the Georgia Cyber Academy, and as a member of the Northwest Atlanta Advisory Board for Branch Banking & Trust (BB&T)

He received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Syracuse University; a Master of Public Administration from Clark Atlanta University; and a Master of Science in accounting from Southern Polytechnic State University. He is an alumnus of the executive doctoral program in higher education management through UGA's Institute of Higher Education.
