Kanler joined the Institute of Higher Educated as an M.Ed. candidate pursuing his degree in Higher Education. Before joining IHE, Kanler attended Piedmont College where he received his Bachelors of Arts degree in History and Political Science. While at Piedmont College, Kanler served as a Resident Assistant, Student Government Association President, and was heavily involved in the institution’s Quality Enhancement Plan. Through this work on the QEP Steering Committee, Cumbass presented at the SACS-COC annual meeting in December of 2018.
Currently, Kanler serves as the Graduate Assistant for the UGA Mentor Program and is interested in learning more about college affordability/access and how those factors relate to retention rates for underrepresented student populations.
