Amy Yandell is a Ph.D. student in the Institute of Higher Education and a Graduate Assistant in the office of Experiential Professional Development (xPD) in the Graduate School.  Her research interests include issues around faculty satisfaction, graduate school socialization towards careers outside the academy, and issues around the implications of higher education institutions’ use of urban space in relation to their surrounding communities.

Yandell holds a bachelor’s in music from Winthrop University, master’s and doctoral degrees in music from Arizona State University, and a master’s degree in higher education leadership from Mercer University.  She spent 13 years teaching music on the undergraduate level, and three years working in career development and project development at the American Academy of Religion.
