Tandeca King Gordon
Tandeca King Gordon serves as the research administrator for the Evaluation and Institutional Assessment Unit at Morehouse School of Medicine within the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine. In this capacity, she is responsible for managing all finances, interfacing and collaborating with internal and external partners, conducting pre-award activities related to procuring grants and other extramural awards, and planning and implementing administrative and operational activities for the unit.
Previously, she served as program assistant for the unit and was later promoted to program manager for grants management. She took on the challenge to work in higher education, which enabled her to advance her knowledge and skills in policy and finance strategies, and to strengthen her skills as an administrator.
Prior to joining Morehouse, King Gordon’s focus was on elementary education. She began her career as a first grade teacher in the DeKalb County schools, and later in Henry County, where she taught for over 10 years.
King Gordon earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Morris Brown College and a Master of Arts in education with a concentration in curriculum and instruction.
