Robert Hoover is associate dean for administration and chief financial officer at the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce. Hoover oversees the school's business affairs, finances, human resources and operations. He most recently served as associate dean of finance at the Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing in Atlanta, where he was responsible for the nursing school’s business affairs, finances, human resources, and operations.
Hoover joined the School of Nursing in 2004 as the director of admission and student services. He was soon promoted to assistant dean, and later attained the position of associate dean of enrollment management and student affairs. He served as associate dean for enrollment management and student services in the School of Nursing since 2008.
Prior to joining Emory, Hoover served as the director of admission at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. He earned a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Samford University. Hoover is a member of the first cohort of the Executive Ed.D. in Higher Education Management who graduated in December 2011.
Hoover has an Executive Doctorate in Higher Education and earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from Samford University.
